Captain Nathaniel Sutton (b.1832/35, Kinsale), the Cork Harbour Master, was related to the Punches on his mother’s side. Apprentice Thomas Crofts Clarke would next serve for two years as an apprentice on Blanch of Cork, then as boatswain for four years on Cork vessels before later earning his Master Certificate in 1861.
