William Parker and John Evans were owners of this Youghal brigantine, Caroline (Reg: 39094). J Curtin of Youghal owned another Youghal brigantine of 117t at this time which was also named Caroline (Reg: 37294). Captain E Sheehan in Lloyd’s was one of two Edward Harriss Sheehans of Youghal: one was born in 1811, the other in 1831. Captain Michael Fleming (IMNCL) on this Youghal ship and Captain Michael Flemming (UK M&M) may well be one and the same and related to the Youghal merchant and shipowner family (see Dei Gratia and Nellie Fleming ). IMNCL report indicates Captain Fleming died in Youghal on 20 April 1863. Seaman Robert Farrell served on several Youghal ships and would be the Mate on the William S Green in 1884. *IMNCL; CLIP; Lloyd’s; UK M&M; O’Brien, Youghal vessels in 1860 (online resource see Bibliography)
