Scope and Content: Letter stating Riordan’s pleasure at news of Fawsitt’s apparent reappointment to post in the Department of Industry and Commerce. Riordan promises to write to Cormac and Fahy and ‘leave no stone unturned’ on unidentified subject.
Letter stating Dowdall’s opinion he does not see Fawsitt’s position of reinstatement to the civil service as favourable. He states that other names have been mentioned in connection with the vacant position of Secretary to the Department of Industry and Commerce including Donal O’Sullivan. J.J. (James Joseph Walsh) has told Dowdall that he has written about Fawsitt to Sean Lemass. Dowdall urges Fawsitt to go to Eamon de Valera and Sean Lemass directly: ‘take the bull by the horns and go after job yourself’.
