Scope and Content: Letter stating de Roiste’s regret that reports of Fawsitt’s reinstatement in the civil service are inaccurate. States he rarely now sees T.P.D. (Thomas Patrick Dowdall) and J.C.D. (James Charles Dowdall) as they now have new friends since their change of political opinions. He encourages Fawsitt to write to Thomas and James Dowdall. Believes Andrew O’Shaughnessy is also a supporter of the new regime, i.e. Fianna Fail but is less sure about Alfred O’Rahilly’s support. De Roiste recommends a number of Fianna Fail politicians who may be able to assist Fawsitt in his efforts for reinstatement in the civil service including Ned Sheehan and Liam Shorten.

Scope and Content: Letter asking Fawsitt if reports in the Independent of Fawsitt’s return to the Department of Industry and Commerce are correct. The writer refers to himself and his wife being laid up with the ‘flu’ for the first time.
