Printed circular letter from the Governesses and Trustees of the Magdalen Asylum requesting attendance at 'Sermon to be preached Sunday next', and arrangements being made to place it under the management of 'The Sisters of Charity....Born and educated in the higher ranks of Society.....[who]....voluntarily devote their lives to the relief of misery in its every varied form'. Describes the good standing of the Sisters in the community, who will place a 'religious and watchful superintendence' on the Asylum. Refers to the 'services of one of the most gifted and zealous of the many talented Catholic clergymen in our City...'.
