Printed notice/handbill listing resolutions made at meeting of Cork Anti-Slavery Society, Lloyds Hotel 27 May 1851, concerning American fugitive slave law. James Lambkin, Mayor, in the Chair. Includes resolution proposed by Alderman Andrew F. Roche JP, expressing 'deep abhorrence' at the 'iniquitous' fugitive slave law passed by Congress. Second resolution from Alderman Richard Dowden, expressing sympathy with '...millions of our oppressed fellow-men, still in chains...'
