Great 'trouble and arrangement' have been taken by Mr. Flower and himself to gain information [from] a workhouse committee. It is 'for your Governors to say yes or no, or....the expense will be greater... this is not the Emigrant season generally.... as fewer are going...'. Requests communication on the matter. MS. letter from W.Forde (possibly William Forde, musician, b?1796 - d?1850), 20 [Princes] Street, Hanover Square, London to 'My dear Dowden', Richard Dowden, Brown Street, Cork. He has another letter to Mr. Kelleher and asks Dowden to forward it. Refers to '...this singing for the millions to which I am at present devoting my time with a view to introducing it in Cork', he hopes to give him '...some of the physiogamy of the systems here...', etc.

MS. letter from W.J. Fox (William Johnson Fox b1786 - d1864, religious orator, unitarian, anti-Corn laws), Stamford Grove, Upper [Clapton], [London], to Richard Dowden, 48 Georges Street, Cork. Regards an introductory note by Dowden for Mr. Tancred who was described as a Unitarian, which Tancred denies. He is glad to be a fellow labourer in the good cause of reform and had a meeting to start a national union, with 15,000 people. He has purchased the Monthly Repository to promote truth, liberty, and liberality and would welcome advertisements from '...your part of the country'.
