(3pp) 7 Mar 1849 Summons from Police Office, Borough of Cork, by John Bagnell, one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Pease for the Borough, to Catherine Bedford, Kyrl's Quay to appear before the Justices at the Police Office, Paradise Place, concerning penalty of 2s.4d for having neglected to sweep and cleanse the footway and water channel in front of her house. 2 Feb 1849 Borough of Cork, council meeting to consider motion of Councillor Brady for preventing exclusion of any class of citizens on account of their political opinions from office of Mayor or local boards. Refers to '....Ireland's greatest want, namely Self Government', proposes a committee of liberal and conservative members to elect Mayors. Also payment of £23 for surveys by Harbour Board to abate flooding at Hammond's Marsh. (1p)
