8 Oct 1831 Poster, 'Blacklist! Annual Amount of Pickings of the Peers and their Families, who voted against the Reform Bill in the House of Lords, Saturday, Oct 8, 1831'. Lists all Dukes, Marquisses, Earls, Viscounts, Lords, Bishops who voted against the Reform Bill, and estimate of annual income. Sold by Fergusson, printer, bookseller, stationer, 108 Patrick's Street, Cork, agent for the Comet, Dublin, weekly newspaper. (1 item) 6 Dec 1834 Handbill, for scientific exhibition by Holland and Co. of microscopes and a lime light, at the Royal Cork Institution, Nelson Place. 'A DROP OF WATER, Magnified 900,000 times!.....In Which are seen Thousands of Living Creatures....THE REFULGENT RAYS OF LIGHT, emanating from a ball of lime.... ILLUMINATING THE WHOLE CITY OF CORK!...'. (1 item) 15 Jan 1831 MS. letter, to 'Dear Sir' regarding address by the citizens of Cork to the French people, forwarded to Lafayette by the writer's father, given to the Prefect of the Seine at a ceremony attended by municipal officers of Paris and other distinguished individuals for the deputation from Cork. Quotes a toast given by the Prefect at the event dinner, to "The City of Cork and the brave Irish who always proved to be our friends; may they soon enjoy all the benefits of civil and religious Liberty".
