Two bundles of news cuttings, the first including several on a Company outing in 1922, a conference in 1928, an early Innisfallen sailing in 1930 and later reports on the Innisfallen, ‘Munster’ collision in 1961, ending of Cork-Liverpool passenger service in 1963, and a Reard on Smith vessel’s visit to Cork in 1965. The second bundle relates largely to the Innisfallen and B&I ferry services. The typescript is headed ‘City of Cork Steam Packet Company Limited’ and presents a history of the Company from 1821 to 1919. Evidently it was prepared by ER Leader, British and Irish Travel Agency, London [under the same parent company]. The letters present are generally between the Company, Reader, and The Science Museum, South Kensington. Correspondence with the latter concerns the museum’s plans to celebrate t he centenary of the first steam crossing of the Atlantic by the ‘Sirius’, under Captain
