Files relating to the administration of the Company, its assets, and vessels, grouped under the headings Property, Financial, and Operations. The files contain letters, reports, and returns, including correspondence on property, accounts statements, weekly trade returns, files on individual vessels, and on war loss suffered by the Company, in both the First and Second World Wars. There are also some interesting early files on the Company's London agency. The files document the work of Company management, and its response to trading conditions, particularly in the first half of the 20th century.

U370/C/008-018 Financial Files. Present are account statements, 1871-1918, and later files on accounts, loans, and taxes. 1871-1938.
U370/C/019-040 Operational Files. Present are trading returns, 1963-64, files on Company ships, including war loss (1921-41), files on Company agency in London, and related offices and officers, 1828-1911, and a few other files on officers and staff.
