Burke, "Inver" Rushbrooke, Cobh, given to Flor O'Donoghue of the Bureau of Military History, recounting his introduction to the Independence movement in 1915, and his admission to the Volunteers in 1917. Details Volunteer activities including an abortive attempt to raid Balycurk Aerodrome and the capture of Carrigtwohill Barracks, up to 1922. 35 pp

1947 Two typescript copies of Seamus Fitzgerald's initial statement to Flor O'Donoghue detailing his activities as a member of the Irish Volunteers, 23 April 1916 to January 1923. Recounts in point form activity in the Volunteer Hall, Sheares Street, Cork over the Easter weekend 1916 and his subsequent arrest and internment; activities in organising arms and the use of his shop at 19, East Beach, Cobh as a despatch office. Recalls abortive plans to assassinate Sir John French when he visited Cobh in 1920. Describes involvement in bomb making up to the Civil War and his arrest in September 1922 and release July 1924.
