747 10 November 1939 - 1940 Correspondence file relating to deputations made to Fitzgerald as Chairman of the CHC to use his influence to put pressure on the Government regarding the hunger strikes in Arbour Hill, Prison. Includes (1) Letter from Donncad O'Criostan, Cork IRA calling on Fitzgerald to support demands for the release of all Republican prisoners. Also letters from Cogha MacCarthaigh (2) and A. O'Matghanlna giving Fitzgerald details of the Hunger Strikers and a copy letter from Fitzgerald to de Valera discussing his handling of the matter. 8 items 748 29 November 1939 Incomplete copy of minutes of a CHC meeting to consider a report on its own running. 3pp 749 29 November - 4 December 1939 Circular letter inviting relevant bodies to send representatives to a meeting of the Cork Harbour Board to discuss the effect of war conditions on Cork Port. Also copy of Harbour Board statement read at the meeting and jotted notes by Fitzgerald. 4pp
