Barley buying file, 1946 to 1976. The file consists of standard letters, and correspondence with vendors and growers on agreed prices and related matters. Also includes many sample letters, such as acceptance and
rejection, replies to queries regarding buying seed barley, ‘roguing’ [checking cut crop and removing ‘stranger’ ears: black oats, wheat], purchasing on the deposit system. There is a gap from 1952 to 1974.

Barley buying, 1978 to 1982. Week-end summaries, generally from the harvest months of August and September, for each of these years. The summaries note variety, contract tonnes, tonnes received, moisture
content, and where received from. Information on malting and seed barley recorded separately. The summaries also note estimate of yield. Directed to the brewer-in-charge, AGS, summaries are directed to the Head of the Raw Materials Department, AGS. [See also weekly barley returns, B609/2/C above, and B609/2/I/26]

Barley buying, 1982 to 1988. File containing reports, memoranda, data and some correspondence regarding barley buying for AGS.
B609/2/J/10 Barley buying (AGS), 1989 to 1992.
B609/2/J/11 Import of British Barley, 1958. File regarding the transport of British barley to Ballinacurra. The file is made up of small bundles for each shipment, each containing a charter party, general note, and note and receipts in respect of the work of stevedores.
B609/2/J/12 Barley Export Licence, c1974-77. Small file.
