Company Statements of Accounts, Capital Expenditure Programme, and Budgets, 1918-96. High-level accounting records of JHB, mainly statements of accounts for the period 1918 to 1968. Other items of similar

nature and scope also placed in this sub-section.

B609/4/D/1 Statements of Accounts, 1918-1968. Typescript statements prepared annually by Magennis, Burns, Griffin & Co, company auditors to JHB. Fifty-one sets of accounts comprise this file, with drafts occurring for some years, and a statement for 1946 not present. At the front of the file is a document, ‘Notes to accompany Certified Statements of Accounts, 1918-26’. There is a letter with the 1925 statement from AJ Magennis & Co, Accountants, regarding costs. The file has been arranged into nine sub-files covering from three to seven years each. B609/4/D/2 Annual Accounts, 1968-70. File containing Company Auditor’s report for 31 July 1969, with balance sheet for same date. Also present is a balance sheet for 31 July 1968, anticipated figures, barley account, based on current costs, 1968-69, general profit and loss account balance sheet and notes, 1968, and a farm account balance sheet, 1969-70. There are also two letters from the AGS Chief Accountant’s Department, February and July 1970.
