Apprentice: Fate of ship:

This ship was driven ashore at Southsea, Hampshire, 25 January 1842. She was on a voyage from Youghal to Portsmouth. She was re-floated 27 January and taken into Portsmouth (List of Shipwrecks - Wiki). Captain John Prendergast has dates on UK M&M that are slightly at odds with the ship construction date. He would later captain Magyar in 1851. Captain William Marks was likely to have been the same person as Captain W Marks in Lloyd’s. Captain Edward Harris Sheehan was one of four Harris Sheehan mariners from Youghal (see crew list). Captain Calaghan McCarthy documented his service on Youghal ships 1839 – 50. He would be Captain of the John Munro of Youghal 1863 – 75, which was lost at Youghal on 19 Jan 1875 (IMNCL).
