Additional information:

Ulverston is a town on the southern edge of Cumbria. A 1.25- mile-long ship canal was constructed in 1796 from the middle of town to the navigable estuary of the River Leven. Ulverston became a centre for shipping and trade, exporting iron ore and importing coal.

Failed to find Captain Robinson, however I did find a mariner Richard Robinson (b.1825, Ulverstone, Lancs) with a Mate Certificate.
