'Were our cause one of pleasure or ease...or run with the world's opinion that Might is Right...we would have members go leor...but Kathleen Ní Houlihan's road is a thorny one. We demand sacrifice from those who believe with us, sacrifice for the love of Banba....for her liberty...language, her cause.....Let other societies be what they may...but not till every vestige of foreign power, of foreign ideals, of foreign thought is swept from our shores, can we say rest: Ireland must be free...Irish... self-reliant...on we go...ultimately to Victory.'
