Biographical / Administrative History

Jonathan T. Horne, b.1894, Cork, organist, music teacher. Teacher of singing, piano, organ and theory at the Cork School of Music. Conductor of the School of Music choir which won many awards at the Cork Choral Festival. Organist and choirmaster at various parish churches and St. F inbarre’s Cathedral 1922 – 1977; founder of t he Cathedral’s Oratorio Society. Theatre enthusiast. Founder member of Gilbert and Sullivan Theatre in the Cork Opera House.

Includes Shakespearian plays, etc. Also set of newsclippings relating to various plays and actors in London, signed ‘To my true and loyal friend Jack Horne, a small token in remembrance of happy times…Frank Thompson Nov. 24 th 1912’.
