In the letter from O’Clery to Fawsitt she states her urgency in resolving the bonds and stocks is that she is a widow with eight children. Scope and Content: Personal letter, from J. Meagher at Miyanoshita, Japan, referring in passing to meeting Miceal (Michael Collins) and (Eamon) de Valera as well as Arthur Griffith. Meagher mentions that he saw Griffith and suggested Fawsitt might go to Dublin for Christmas, to which ‘he said it would be very unwise for you to travel & come to Ireland the way things were’. Meagher indicates that he will travel onward to Sydney and will advise Fawsitt if he is returning to America.
