Scope and Content: Letter from Fawsitt to Slattery, regretting that (Lalor) ‘has let you down again’, and sending her copies of recent correspondence [not present]. He states he has sought estimates, including through calling in person to Whelan & Sons, Dublin. The latter explained that hurleys with 1.25 inches at the top need to be made specially, as 1 inch hurleys are normally used in Ireland. As the season in the US is to open soon, he cannot see how this difficulty may be overcome. He expresses his personal view that Lalor ‘should be made account for his failures’.
Scope and Content: Letter from Thomas Meadows & Co to Fawsitt, advising that Mr Lalor informed them of dispatch of goods on 15 March, but that the goods have not as yet arrived.

Scope and Content: Letter from Lalor to Fawsitt, acknowledging his of 16 March. He states that goods were dispatched on15th, but he has not received shipping documentation yet. He explains the price charged for balls, and, with reference to the 5% discount, states ‘you merely mentioned discount on your own behalf, at least so far as I am concerned. I have no knowledge of quoting discount’. TS copy of letter present.

Scope and Content: (Copy) letter from Fawsitt to Lalor, stating that he is in receipt of a duplicate consular invoice, and noting that Lalor incorrectly refers to the order of 10 January, which, Fawsitt says, was broken on 10 March, and asking for an amended invoice in line with the new offer of 14 March. He awaits documentation on delivery from the shipping agents in Liverpool.

Scope and Content: Letter from Cork Industrial Development Association to Fawsitt, apologising for delay in replying to his and and referring to two estimates for supply of hurleys. He refers to Mrs Murphy, the recent ‘Irish Month’ campaign, and Miss Frank, whom he will inform ‘that you have ceased connections with the I.I.D.A.’.

Scope and Content: (Copy) letter from (Fawsitt) to Slattery, stating that he has ‘somewhat better news’ and explaining that he has received a US Consulate duplicate invoice for 100 hurleys and 34 balls. He has written to Lalor regarding errors in the pricing and terms. He thinks there is ‘little hope’ of getting more hurleys from Lalor soon. He sends his St Patrick’s Day wishes.
