Scope and Content: Letter referring to recent meeting with Tom (Dowdall) and the President (Cosgrave), in which Dowdall states ‘he practically promised us that he would provide a position for you the first opportunity’ but ‘it was difficult’. Dowdall regrets Fawsitt’s trip to America calling it ‘a blunder. It was bound to be looked on with suspicion here’ owing to Fawsitt’s previous close association with Eamon de Valera.
Scope and Content: Letter written on Christmas Day from MacArdle acknowledging a card sent by Fawsitt. MacArdle is glad to hear Fawsitt’s health is restored and wishes him prosperity in the new year, and peace and concord for the country. An odd remark is made: ‘although I am coming to conclusion we are a nation, but a nation of asses’. Regarding Fawsitt’s health he wishes Fawsitt to ‘conserve any sense of strength’ than concern about his job.

Scope and Content: Article cut from the Irish Independent advertising auction and headed ‘Boyne Meat Factory: The Top Bill Not Enough’. The report states that the top offer at auction of £125,000 was insufficient for sale of the St Mary’s and Westgate Mills, Drogheda. The article details a number of facts about the factory stating it contains a stockyard, abattoir, chillrooms and factories capable of handling 4,000 cattle head per week. A black and white newspaper quality photograph of the interior and exterior of the property is also present.

Scope and Content: Letter from Fawsitt with a proposal for the solicitor’s clients regarding their failed purchase at auction of the Irish Packing Company’s factory at Drogheda. Fawsitt states that his ‘friends’ in the United States may be interested to take stock of up to $250,000 in the company.
Scope and Content: Letter referring to recent meeting with the President (Cosgrave) on a business matter. O’Shaughnessy regrets that he was unale to raise matter of Fawsitt as ‘G.C’ (Gordon Campbell) was present at both meetings. O’Shaughnessy promises Fawsitt he will again pick up the matter when the Dail resumes on 10 January (1924). He hopes Fawsitt’s operation will restore him to good health.
