Scope and Content: Short letter stating he has done his ‘little bit’. TPD (Thomas Patrick Dowdall) will go to Dublin to ‘see if he can rescue your freedom to resign (& withdrawal of present notice)’. O’Rahilly fears there is little more that can be done for Fawsitt in this matter.
Scope and Content: A letter referring to Fawsitt’s gratitude on news that has reached him of a conversation between Major- General Liam Tobin, Liam Devlin, and Joseph McGrath. Fawsitt also writes to express his ‘regrets and sorrow for the annoyance that my activities in the United Sates last May’ caused McGrath. He also acknowledges the fact the trip was ‘unauthorised’ by McGrath and that he committed an ‘error in judgment’.
