Scope and Content: Series of papers originally enclosed in folder titled ‘Re. Appointment of GC’, (Gordon Campbell). Folder on government printed paper from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Aireacht um Tiuscal agus Trachtail.

Scope and Content: Letter outlining the job role offered to Diarmaid Fawsitt in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce as Assistant Secretary to the Trade Branch. The position offered is ‘under the general directions of the Secretary’ (Gordon Campbell), and includes the offer of salary of £1,000 per annum. A postscript handwritte note by McGrath requests Fawsitt’s decision ‘if possible this evening’.

Scope and Content: Letter addressed simply ‘The Minister’, requesting the minister’s views in regard to the work of the new Ministry of Industry and Commerce in relation to the workings of the previous Ministry of Economic Affairs, Provisional Government of Ireland.

Scope and Content: Letter requesting Fawsitt meet with a Mr Riordan at his office and lunch at the Metropole. The reason for the meeting is unclear, however, the writer states: ‘neither of the gentlemen in question are likely to be of any benefit to the country’. Appears to relate to the writer’s view on the appointments of Joseph McGrath and Gordon Campbell to the new Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
