Scope and Content: Envelope, original letter no longer enclosed. Appears to be written in the hand of James K. McGuire of New York. On the envelope are little notes possibly for buying seeds for the garden at St Petroc’s, Dublin. Notes include: rye grass, field peas, wall flowers, and celery.
Scope and Content: Letter requesting information on possible markets for alcohol in Ireland. Frederic Francis of 25 West 43r Street, New York City, is planning to open an import and export office in Ireland as a broker for American goods. The alcohol is for ‘non-intoxicating’ purposes only, i.e. for use in medicines and for sacramental purposes. McGuire suggests Fawsitt prepare a report on exports and imports to Ireland for Mr Francis.

Scope and Content: Letter regarding the proposed import of alcohol from America by the firm of Frederic Francis of New York. Fawsitt states there is no market for this product in Ireland owing to a prohibitive tax on alcohol including for industrial or non-intoxicating purposes. He also writes in respect of the Irish Industries Store, New York, that Mrs Slattery intends to resign. He believes the store remains under the ownership of the Gaelic League in Ireland. In respect of the Gaelic American newspaper of 2 June, Fawsitt regrets he had left the United States before its publication. He writes he believes the article is the result of a dispute between himself and Lindsay Crawford. Fawsitt states the disagreement was over Ireland’s intentions to join the League of Nations. He goes on to comment: ‘Judge Cohalan thinks me rather a menace’. Mrs Fawsitt busy with house work and gardening.
