Scope and Content: Letter with vague comments as to Fawsitt being a ‘great loss’ to the nation. McGuire states ‘you are the only one I have seen who had any economic sense or knowledge’. Appears to relate to Fawsitt being overlooked for position of Secretary to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Scope and Content: Letter in reply to McGuire’s letter of 30 December in respect of events at the Irish consulate in New York. Fawsitt advises that he has granted Smiddy permission to surrender the lease of the property to the landlord.

Scope and Content: Letter regarding position of the O’Mara family in relation to their support or otherwise for the Anglo- Irish treaty. McGuire notes that James O’Mara is for (Arthur) Griffith, as is S. O’Mara senior. S O’Mara junior is for Eamon de Valera. McGuire also quotes the ‘chief’ Eamon de Valera that: ‘Fawsitt is the man for truth and facts’.
Scope and Content: Letter advising Fawsitt that McGuire has been sick the past two months with pneumonia. McGuire advises there is currently an epidemic of pneumonia in New York. In respect of Lindsay Crawford, McGuire advises that he is still occupying the offices of the Irish consul in New York.
