Biographical/Administrative History
Lived at family farm at Mallowgatten, Bandon, Co. Cork. Born April 1905, Died October 1982. Worked as teacher in England, later at the Ministry of Pensions until 1945. Amateur photographer. Took photo of Michael Collins in Bandon a few hours before his death in an ambush on 22 Aug 1922, and also of the scene of the ambush, Beal na Blath, the next day. Aunt of Hanora Mary (Mim) O'Donovan.
Archival History
The collection was inherited by Hanora O'Donovan, niece of Agnes Hurley. Deposited in 2015.
