Four Masted Sailing Ship Moored at Albert Quay, c.1880-1910. This is a sight once common in the Port of Cork. This type of vessel was the largest and most highly developed type of wind-powered ship afloat, and was used mainly for long distance bulk cargoes, before being gradually replaced by steam ships in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
