Barley Book, Green Distillery, 1856. The Green Distillery in York Street (now Thomas Davis Street), Cork was founded in 1796 by Robert Allan and Denis Corcoran and used water power from the Glen River. It was subsequently owned by Thomas and Joseph Shee and, from 1850, by George Waters. This Barley Book recorded payments for barley delivered to the distillery.
