Provisions Trade Munster Dairies letterhead, 1903.
The elaborate letterhead provides fascinating information about the medals won by T.J. Clanchy’s Munster Dairies, together with details about the packaging available for butter exports. Cork producers developed considerable expertise in packaging, particularly in the coopering trade. Coopers made many types of wooden barrels which were used for storing a variety of produce including butter, stout, whiskey, salted meat and even gunpowder. (CCCA PR11/34 Clanchy Papers)
