8 Nov 1819 Meeting of subscribers at Mr.Shinkwin's rooms to discuss rules for the government of the Rooms, to 'be called the Chamber of Commerce'. Appointment of committee with Jeremiah Murphy (Treasurer), James Daly, John Cogan, Thomas Fitzgibbon, Richard O'Driscoll, William Bullen, J.Moloney, Arthur O'Leary, Richard Ronayne, John Murphy, Thomas Lyons (Secretary). 31 Dec 1819 Report of Committee of management on present state of the establishment, congratulating subscribers in the 'very different aspect which the Establishment now presents, to that which existed at the last general meeting [when] there appeared but a small number on the list of those who were willing, by an honourable and spirited exertion, to found and support an institution upon Liberal principles....those who were interested in perpetuating the old system affected to despise our project....'.
