The Wexford company made enquiries in April 1935 regarding a livestock steamer suitable for the Rosslare-Birkenhead trade. A memorandum of agreement was issued 18 June, agreeing to sale for the sum of £5000, and the transfer took place around 10 July. The vessel was renamed the Manipia.

There are notices present respecting the vessels Ardmore, Inniscarra, Innisfallen, Kenmare, Glengariff, Bandon and Pylades. The file also contains related correspondence.

The Munster, a mail ship, sunk in the North Sea in February 1940 with no loss of life. The Meath was lost in August 1940 with no loss of life. The Innisfallen was lost on 23 Dec 1940, with the loss of the lives of eight crew members. The file contains letters, reports, and news cuttings regarding these events and subsequent actions. Dated 24 Dec 1940 is an unsigned letter [from a leading Coast Lines officer] to RB Sinnot, general manager, B & I, Dublin, expressing his regret regarding the Innisfallen, stating ‘At Fishguard she was looked upon as the finest vessel ever operating the services’.
