Arrived 22 Jul. – of Whitehaven sailed for St John NB from Cork 20 Jun 1847, 338 passengers. Arr. 4 Aug. 33 deaths during voyage and 56 after arrival. – of Liverpool sailed for Quebec from Cork 4 Jun with 437 passengers. Arrived at Grosse Île 11 Jul with 45 sick, 36 dead. Arriving at Grosse Île in early August with 11 cabin, 389 steerage, 80 sick and 43 deaths. Add. 71 dd on GI + 16 dd on ship. Total: 130 died – 240t, built at Marietta Ohio in 1847 and towed to Portsmouth on the Ohio River to take on a cargo of corn which she carried for famine- relief via New Orleans to Cork (Ambler, 1932, 103). Her first season crossing arrived from Bristol 18 May.
