St John voyage lengths in the A-List were extracted from a ‘Report of St John Emigration Ship Arrivals’, which appeared in the 1 Jul 1846 Cork Examiner and /or were extrapolated from other sources. While Ocean departed Cork in May with Captain Linehan for Quebec, a vessel of the same name arrived at St John NB in June: perhaps the same vessel. Marion of Cork and from Cork was described voyaging up the river to Quebec 5 Jun with passengers, all well. Shipwrecks: Brilliant of London, for Quebec from Cork, 30 days out, was wrecked 12 May near Lamaline, Newfoundland with 2 passengers lost and 153 saved. Woodland Castle (a well-known Cork vessel) abandoned, presumably after disembarking emigrants at St John (Lloyds). She provided many years of service and had early in her career been armed with cannon during the Napoleonic Wars.
