– (port unknown) sailed for Quebec from Cork 15 May with emigrants. – probably of Cork arrived at St Andrews from Cork 17 Jul with passengers. – of Cork cast away 50 passengers near Shelbourne, Nova Scotia. Brig Zephyr delivered them to Halifax 30 Jun.

RELATED NEWS and EVENTS * Shipping News Three vessels arrived at Halifax from St John’s Newfoundland with Irish passengers ( Arcadian Recorder ). * No Quebec arrivals on The Ships List . No Cove Ship News emigrant departures found. Cork ships Try Again, Urania, Eliza Ann, and Dominica , which regularly carried passengers to Quebec during the Spring westward voyage, sailed in ballast.

*UK Emigration Decline in 1838. UK emigration decreased from 72,034 in 1837 to 33,222 in 1838; distribution: BNA - 4,577 , US - 14,332 , Australia - 14,021 (Fig. 7).
