It., £56 3s. lOj-d. to Will Jones, Esq., Town Clerk, his account; It., £5 lOs. for refreshments for the peace officers who kept guard in this City during the absence of the army. Present-Mr. Mayor, and Sheriffs; Alden. Butler, Owgan, Sir J. Franklin, SirS. Rowland, Ald. Kingston, Crowley, Harris; Mr. Izod, Lane, C. S. 30 July, 1792. The Common Speaker was sworn to keep the secrets of the Council. Ordered, that 40 guineas be paid the Mayor to provide an entertainment V at Blackrock, to commemorate 1 Aug. ~ It., that the following Address be fairly transcribed and presented to the Most Noble the Marquis of Townshend, who is expected to arrive in this City, this day : To the Most Noble the Marquis of Townshend. "The Mayor, Sheriffs, and Common Council of the City of Corke, have particular satisfaction in congratulating your Lordship on your arrival in this City. "They rememberwith gratitude that unrler the auspices of your adminis- tration the constitution of this country received its first important improve- ment, and the obligations of this nation to your Lordship have been since greatlyheightened byyour constant attention on all occasions, to the interests of this Kingdom, which has been felt w~~-~~El-~~9~-E-4~.}~--~~~~ Irishman ; and permit us at the same· time to express our anxious wiSiies that a life so dear to the public may be long preserved and successfully employed in promoting the prosperity of this Kingdom and the general welfare of the Empire.
