REGULATIONS RESPECTING THE LAMPS. 1053 Suburbs, and the parishes of Christ Church, S. Nicholas, S. Paul, S. Ann Shandon, S. Finbarry, S. Peter, and S. Mary Shandon ; ordered, that said sum of £353 58. 7 d. be added to the money appointed to be raised for erecting, &c., lamps in this City and Suburbs; It., that 100 barrels of coals ~ be bought for the use of the Corporation; It., £9 188. 7d. to George Barber, work done at the Mansion House; It., £9 28. to Sir Saml. Rowland and the Revd. Archdeacon Austen for painting the Mayor's Gallery at S. Peter's Church; It., £10 68. 3d. to Edmond Roche Kinselagh, Esq., for money paid by him for the Corporation; It., £9 138. 2d. to Edmond Barnes for News Papers; It., £108 188. 1~d. to Robt. Reeves, Corporation Agent in Dublin, cost of obtaining the King's letter for drawing out of the Exchequer the Fines paid therein ; It., £9 128. 5!d. to Robt. In pursuance of the powers given us by the Act for the regulation of the City, the Mayor, &c., do fix 1600 Globe lamps for the City and Suburbs, not being nearer to each other than 15 yards (except at the front of any public building), nor at a greater distance than 30 yards, to commence lighting 9 August every year, and continue burning, from sun setting to sun rising, until 9 June following; each lamp to have a burner with two lights, to be supplied with good cotton wick of not less than 20 threads, with spermaceti oil, to be cleaned every day, and snuffed once or oftener every night so as to afford a clear light, and we further fix the sum of 19s. shall be paid for lighting, &c., each of said lamps from 9 Aug. to 9 June during the term; we shall contract for lighting the same amounting in the whole to the yearly sum of £1520.
