ADMISSION OF FREEMEN.

1 Sep., 1789. Ordered, that Gateage Tolls and other City Customs be set by public cant, &c. (conditions as usual). It., that a posting be put up on the Exchange for electing a Waterbailiff for one year. That Thomas Carew, son of the Revd. John Russell Carew, having served John Teulon, mercht. ; John Boyce, eldest son of Thomas Boyce of Tallow, clothier; Pope Gray, Jun., mercht., having served his father, Pope G., do.; John Travers, Esq., eldest son of Robert T., Esq. ; William Daunt, cooper, having served James Doherty; John Carr, eldest son of James C., mercht. ; Richard Squirrell, Tallow chandler, having served Thomas Hewett; Thomas McCall, mercht., a Protestant stranger, paying 20s.; Edward Orpen, of Kilowen, Esq., brother to Sher. Orpen and at his request; George Knapp, Esq., one of the Land waiters, at the request of Sheriff Maylor; Robert Harding, of Drownsallagh, co. Limerick, gent.; Robert Gibbings, Esq., M.D.; Lieut. William Augustus Kellett, be admitted freemen at large. It., £46 14s. 6d. to Timothy Hughes for iron work; It., £267 18s. 5!d. to said Hughes for Lamp irons; It., £61 9s. 3d. to said Hughes, work done; It., £88 8s. 6~d. to said Hughes for do.; It., £10 16s. 8d. to said Hughes for work done at S. Stephen's Hospital; It., £39 16s. 3d. to Robt. Reeves, jun., agent in Dublin, for procuring a clause to be introduced to Parliament, for granting the fines belonging to the Corporation to be levied by the collector of forfeited recognizances,'by which means they would be lost to the City, from being included in the act for receiving them from other counties and cities; It., that the Mayor, Sheriffs, and C. S., and the Mayor and Sheriff elect, when sworn into office shall have power to set so many of the stalls in the new Meat Market to such persons as they think fit, for any term not exceeding seven years, at not less than 5s. a week for each stall. That Daniel Coughlan, clothier, having served Henry Sadlier, do., be admitted free. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Orpen and Maylor, Mayor Elect; Alden.
