THE CONSTABLE OF BLACKROCK CASTLE TO KEEP IT IN REPAIR. 1039 field, eldest son of John L., of Longueville, co. Cork, Esq., be admitted freemen at large. It., that Robt. Travers, gent., be appointed to sweep Gratton Street and all the streets to the west of it, together with .Anne Street,and from thence to the Fish Market, and that he shall have the sweeping for his own use; It., £32 13s. to Messrs. Rowland and Danl. Morrison, for timber supplied; It., £29 Os. 5d. to said R. and D. Morrison, for timber for S. Stephen's Hos- pital, to be charged on the loan, &c.

S., and Sir J • . ~* ~ Franklin, to be expended in putting Blackrock Castle in repair, and the , offices belonging thereto; It., that the person appointed to be Constable or Keeper of the Castle of Blackrock, shall be obliged, at his own expense, to keep the Castle and Offices in complete order and repair, and paint the same as often as this Board shall think fit; It., that Thomas Shinkwin, Vintner, and one of the Freemen, be appointed Constable and Keeper of Blackrock Castle. · Present--The Mayor and Sheriffs; Alden. Ordered, that the lot of ground to the front of the New Markets, between the houses of Mr. Morgan, shoemaker, and the South gateway into the Market, with liberty of building over the said gateway, be set by public auction, on the Exchange, on such day as the Mayor, &c., shall appoint for a term of 500 years from 25 March inst., and that the purchase shall in addition pay a fine of 50 guineas, and that the Mayor, &c., shall execute a lease, rent payable half-yearly. It., that a passage be opened from Princes Street into the present Fowl Market, and that the houses and linneys at each side thereof which belong to the Corporation, be set by public auction, for one year, one fourth to .be
