1038 ONE HUNDRED GUINEAS TO S. ROWLAND FOR A PIECE OF PLATE.
31 Dec., 1788. Ordered, that the order of Council of 9 Dec. inst., that the sum of £1000 be paid the Mayor for his salary, be rescinded, and that the sum of £365 be paid out of the Corporation revenues to the Mayor, in lieu of like sum heretofore usually annually voted in the C. D. H. on the last Monday in June, as the salary for tile Mayor for the then ensuing year, but which was· not voted on the last Monday in June; It., that a further sum of £635 be paid the Mayor in addition to the above sum of £365. · Jones Stavely, gent., admitted a freeman at the request o.f the Mayor; This day William Jones, Esq., was unanimously elected Clerk of the Crown and Peace for the City and County of the City of Corke, in the room of John Snowe, Esq.~ dec. ; It., 20 guineas a year to Edmd. Roche Kinselagh, Esq., Dep. Clk. of Council. Present-Mr. Mayor and both Sheriffs; Alden. Bury, Maylor, Webb, Travers, Owgan, Carleton, Morrison, Sir J. Franklin, Rowland, Kingston, Kellett; Mr. Izod and Willcocks. 14 Jan., 1789. Ordered, that 100 guineas be paid to Samuel Rowland, Esq., for the purchase of a piece of plate; It., £200 to Hugh Trayer Lawton, Esq., to be expended by him in such manner as he shall choose;. 6 Feb., 1789. Jacob Biggs, clothier, having served Abraham and Will Lane, do., was admitted a freeman. Ordered, that Ald. John Swete's share in the Pipe Water Scheme be sold on the Exchange on 12 March next, he having made default in pay- ment of his subscription; It., that £170 12s. 6d. be paid the Trustees of .....J the pipe water scheme, agreeable to their order of 9 Aug. last; It., that ~ Ald.
