APPOINTMENT OF A DEPUTY WATERBAILIFF.

the Shandon Guard Room be repaired; that a box-barrow and coal-box be provided for the Blackpool Guard Room ; that shutters and counters be provided for the Bandle Cloth Market; a desk and fire-place in the office of the Clerk in the New Market ; a pair of dishes for the scales in the North Market, and a mattress for the Officers' Guard Room at Blackpool. It., that William Cottrell be appointed Deputy-Waterbailiff at Passage, and Walter Thornhill at Cove. Whereas an application has been made this day to this Board by -the body of Merchants of this City, stating that from the great increase of the trade thereof they are of opinion that it is necessary that the W aterbaiiiff should have an assistant to aid him in doing the duty at and from Cork to Blackrock, which, in their opinion, requires the attendance of both Princi- pal and Deputy. In compliance thereof we appoint Robert Patterson to be Dep. Waterbailiff of the City of Corke. It., 30 guineas a year to Robert Patterson as long as he shall continue Dep. Waterbailiff. It., that a bond passed by the Mayor, &c., 7 May last, for £175, be cancelled, and a new bond passed by the Mayor, &c., to John Campbell and Edmond Roche Kinselagh, Esq., trustees in a certain mar- riage settlement, made previous to the marriage of Capt. Thomas Bayly with Susanna Roberts, his present wife, for .£175 at 6 per cent. "Saml. Rowland enters a long protest against the election of a Dep. Water Bailiff, as opposed to the deliberate acts of this Council in a very full assembly held 15 Oct. last." .. Present-Mr. Mayor, both Sheriffs; .Ald 80 • Travers, Owgan, Kent, Kellett, Sir J. Water Bailiff at Cove, in the room of Walter Thornhill, who has declined ; It., that a bond be passed by the Mayor, &c., for £217 lOs. to Mr. John Shaw, with interest 6 per cent. until paid, for the purchase of his interest in two houses in Castle . Street, heretofore agreed to be purchased from him on his conveying his interest to the Mayor ; It., that £300 be paid Mr. Will. Keyes, for the purchase of his interest in the ground whereon his dwelling-house lately stood in Castle Street, lately held by Mr. Barter, chandler ; also the dwelling-
