1020 THE ASSIZE OF DREAD TO DE PUBLISHED IN THE CORK NEWSPAPERS.

Wl1ereas it appears to us by the oath of Francis Johnson, one of the lamp contractors, and William Alexander the other, that from the 1 Jan., 1785, to 1 July, 1787, the several deficiencies in their affidavids set forth, amounting to £246 7s. 7!d., arose in the money appointed by the Mayor, &c., to be levied and paid for the erecting, lighting, &c., the lamps of the City and suburbs in the several parishes of Christ Church, S. Nicholas, S. Paul, S. Ann Shandon, S. Finbarry, S. Peter, and S. Mary Shandon; ordered, that the said sum be added to the money appointed to be raised for erecting, &c., the lamps of the City and suburbs, pursuant to the power given to the Common Council of adding the same upon such proof as aforesaid. It., that 20 guineas be paid Mr. John Bass, the loss he sustained by the throwing down of his wall in the progress of building the New Markets. It., that in future the assize of bread shall be published at the expense ~·of the Corporation in Knight's and Flinn's Papers, on Monday in each week only, and that they be served by the Clk. of the Council with a copy of this order. Present-The Mayor and Sheriffs; Alden. Wetherall, Baker, Webb, Travers, Butler, Owgan, Sir J. Franklin; Mr. Willcocks and Morrison, C. S.

17 July, 1787. Ordered, that the Gateage Tolls and other customs be set in the following lots, to wit: The Dublin road and Mallow road, together; Fair Hill, Cattle Market, and Blarney Lane, together; Youghal road, Spring Lane, and Leitrim, together; the Lough and Gallows Gre~n roads, together; the Upper and Lower Glash~en roads together; the Upper and Lower Douglas roads together, &c. (Conditions as usual.) It., that a posting be put up in the Exchange for electing a W aterbailiff for one year, at a salary of £60. (Conditions as usual.) Whereas by an order of the Common Council of 8 June last, it was ordered, that the Mayor should, in the name of the Mayor, &c., subscribe £1000 towards the purposes of the Act for building a Bridge over the North Channel of the river Lee, and that ten debentures of £100 each should be taken in the name of the Mayor, &c., which was intended to reimburse the Corporation for the proportion of expense said Bridge was to bear and pay of obtaining said Act; and whereas the Mayor, on behalf
