1018 REGULATIONS RESPECTING THE MEASURING AND CARRYING OF COALS.

bridge, so as that said channel be left of the full breadth·of 130 feet in the clear from the South West corner or point of the ground to be enclosed to the opposite, or Sullivan's Quay, and of the full breadth of 122 feet in the clear from the .East point of the ground to be so inclosed to Sullivan's Quay, such liberty to remain to said James Chatterton, his execrs. and assigns, for the term of 900 years, from 29 Sep., said James, his execrs., &c., paying the Mayor, &c., the yearly rent of 5 shillings during such time. Whereas by an Act of Parliament passed 26 H. M. reign, for building a Bridge over the Northern Channel of the river Lee, certain tolls are pay- able, to be applied for the purposes of said Act, and to pay an annuity in lieu of interest of 8 per cent. to the persons who shall advance money for said purpose ; and whereas the Corporation, having advanced a considerable sum of money for obtaining said Act, which by said Act is to be repaid w·ith interest, the Common Council have thought fit to become subscribers for the Corporation of £1000 to be applied for the purpose of said Act. Ordered, that the Mayor, in the name of the Mayor, &c., do subscribe £1000 for the purpose of said Act, and further, that 10 debentures of £100 each shall be taken in the name of the Mayor, &c., and that all the profits to arise there- from shall go and belong to the revenues of the Corporation. That the Rt. Hon. John FitzGibbon, Esq., H. M. Attorney-General, be presented with his freedom in a Silver box. It., 30 guineas a year to Robt. Patterson, Dep. Water Bailiff, in lieu of the present salary, £20 a year. It., that the following sums be paid car- riage of coals in this City: For measuring each barr-el of coals, one penny; For landing each barrel of coals out of a boat, one halfpenny; For the caniage ·of each barrel of coals for 100 yards and under, one penny; For above 100 yards to 200 yards, three half pence; For above 200 yards to 300 yards, three pence; For above 300 yards to 400 yards, four pence ; For above 400 yards to 600 yards, five pence ; For above 600 yards to 800 yards, six pence; For above 800 yards to 1100 yards, eight pence ; for bringing each barrel of coals out of the ship and putting the same into a carriage at the ship's side, one penny ; If dropped on the · ground and afterwards measured and put into a carriage, three half pence. The above rules and regulations respecting the measuring and carriage or coals have been printed and published by the Mayor's order, and by 4im circulated, and are now ordered to be observed.
