1016 A COLLAR OF S. S. AND GOLD CHAINS FOR THE MAYOR AND SHERIFFS.

6 March, 1787. Ordered, that £62 7s. be paid to James and John Knight for printing work done ; It., that a collar of S. S. and gold chains be bought for the Mayor and Sheriffs of this City, for the time being, to be worn by them in their several offices for the Honour and Dignity of this City, and that the said Collar and Chains be made like the collar and chains worn by the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs of Dublin, to be delivered over by the Mayor and Sheriffs from time to time to their successors, along with the rest of the City Regalia. It., £3 12s. 1d. to Mary Ballard for keeping the Mayor's office clean for half a year. It., that the Mayor, Sheriffs, C. S., Ald. Travers, Butler, Sir J. Franklin, and Mr. Izod be a committee to examine the draft of the act intended to be applied for establishing a Ballast office in this City, and erecting Light Houses at the entrance of the Harbour and report. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Waggett and Allen; Alden. Butler, Travers, Sir J. Franklin, Kellett, Rowland, and C. S. 14 March, 1787. Ordered, that £60 be paid to the Mayor, &c., for the purchase of Joseph Morgan's interest in_the dwelling house on the Grand Parade, taken by him from Mr. J appie and others, part of the ground belonging thereto being wanted for the new Markets, and further, that the yearly rent of £50 pay- able out of said house by Joseph Morgan be paid out of the Corporation revenues during the continuance of said Morgan's lease, being 60" years from 25 March next; It., £84 11s. 4d. to Messrs. Shaw and Evanson for cloth- ing for the Bellmen, 'Change Keeper, Sargeants, and Bailiffs; It., 30 guineas )<"' to ~rs. That Sir Nicholas Colthurst, Bart; Sir James Lawrence Cotter, Bart. ; and Henry Cox, Esq., Dunmanway, be admitted freemen at large.
