1010 THE MAYOR TO TAKE A LEASE OF THE GROUNDS FOR BUILDING MARKETg,

It., £40 to Mr. Edward Hart Hopper, for the purchase of his interest in part of the above premises; It., £150 to the Rev. John Pick, for the purchase of his interest in his dwelling-house in Princes Street, and the ground belonging thereto, on his making a sufficient title, &c.; It., 3 guineas to Saml. Andrews, for drawing a map of the grounds whereon the intended markets are to be built. Present-The Mayor and Sheriff Sadlier; Alden. Bury, Maylor, Webb, I Travers, Butler, Owgan, Morrison, Rowland, Kellett; Mr. Burgess Izod, and the Mayor·Elect. 16 Aug., 1786. Ordered, that the Gateage Tolls, and other Tolls and Customs, be set. (Conditions as before.) It., that a posting be put up in the Exchange, for electing a Water Bailiff for one year, Salary £60 (conditions as usual). It., That the Mayor, &c., do forthwith take from the heir-at-law and representative of the late Richard Marret, dec., a lease for the term of 800 years of the grounds, houses, and premises heretofore agreed to be taken from them for building markets, and that the Mayor, &c., do execute the same for and on behalf of the Mayor, &c., and that the yearly rent of £196 18s. 6d., agreed to be paid for the same, shall as it becomes due be paid. It., 5 guineas to Rowland Sharp, one of the peace· officers of this City, for his trouble in apprehending several disturbers of the Peace, and being strongly recommended by the Sheriffs. .I It., £6 19s. 6id. to Gibbs Ross, Esq., expenses he was at in locating ~h~eyin~· . \ ,. It., that an annuity of £200 be granted to Cornet Francis Goold, 3 Reg. /".· of Horse, during his life, and that the Mayor, &c., execute such grant on said Goold's paying into the hands of the Chamberlain the sum of £2000. It., that £1 16s. lld. be paid Thomas Hardaway, 'Change porter, expenses for Council Chamber. It., that the materials on the ground where the Markets are to be built be sold by public auction. That Henry Bagnell, mercht., at the request of Sher. Sadlier and Sami. Cooper, mercht., at the request of Sher. Lumley, be admitted freemen at large.
