AN ACT FOR THE REGUDATION OF THE CORN TRADE.

27 Oct., 1784. Ordered, that an application be made to Parliament in the name of the Mayor, &c., to obtain an act that the Mayor, &c., shall be vested with sufficient power for carrying into execution in this City, and complying with the directions of an act passed for regulating the corn trade of this kingdom, &c., and that the Town Clerk prepare the necessary instructions for such act. That John Prendergast Smith, Esq., be presented by the Town Clerk with his freedom at large. Ordered, that £12 5s. 9!d. be paid John Barter Bennett, his account for 'S. Stephen's Hospital; It., £6 16s. 1d. to the execrs. of Sampson Austen, their account ; It., £4 9s. 6d. to said execrs., their account against S. Stephen's Hospital; It., £37 2s. 10~d. to Hugh Lawton, Esq., incidental expenses at S. Stephen's Hospital from Jan., 1781, to 20 July, 1784; It., £93 9s. 11d. to the Law Agent for sundry bills of costs ; It., £35 1s. 3!d. to George Seymour, pewterer, his account; It., £10 Os. 11!d. to Saml. Hobbs, carpenter, his account ; It., that the Mayor, Sheriffs, Ald. Travers, and Harding be a committee to examine the accounts of the tradesmen ; It., that the Mayor do apply to Mr. John Snowe for all such papers belonging to the Corporation as were in the hands of the late Mr. Snowe at his death, and that Mr. J. Snowe do bring them to the council ; It., that 2 guineas be paid to Tho•. Cotter, a poor freeman who has been employed in serving sum- monses. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Crowly and Allen; Alden. Philpott, !Bury, Wetherall, Maylor, Baker, Webb, Travers, Butler, Lawton, Owgan, Harding, Kent ; Mr. Browne and Izod. 16 Nov., 1784. That Solomon Newsom, son of Mr. Moses N.; Richard Aldworth, of Ann's Grove, Esq.; Bo~t Ball, Esq., Capt. 63 Reg. Foot; Thomas Duggan, cooper, having served Isaac Jones, do.; William Allen, brewer, having served Philip Allen, Esq.; Richard Whitney, cooper, having served John Jappie, do., be admitted freemen at large.

That the Reps. of Thomas Hawes, tyler, dec., be allowed £69 18s. 11d., his account against the Corporation out of £91 1s., arrears of rent out of three houses under the Court House; It., £2 7s. 7d. toM. Mahony, Dep. Chamberlain.
