11 Feb., 1784. No other members attending, the Mayor was obliged to break up.-W. Jones, Clk. of the Council. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Shaw and Waggett; Alden. Butler, Owgan, Kent, and Mr. Izod. 12 Feb., 1784. Whereas the Mayor, &c., have proposed purchasing from Mr. Maurice ~- Ahern 440 bags of oatmeal, at a cost of £500, which they purpose selling X at first cost at such times as they shall see the necessities of the inhabitants, the Mayor, Sheriffs, and C. S. are impowered to purchase and sell the bags of oatmeal ; ordered, that any loss may be made good out of the Corpora- tion revenues. Present--Mr. Mayor, Sher. Shaw and Waggett ; Alden. Owgan, Harding, Kent; Mr. Browne and Allen, C. S. 19 .April, 1784. Ordered, on the petition of several of the late ·and former Sheriffs, that the Corporation Agent do take such steps in Dublin as shall be necessary to bring the rights of the Corporation to the fines and forfeited recognizances arising in this City, and to clear the accounts of the former Sheriffs, and that the present Mayor, Sheriffs, and Ald. Harding be a committee to direct the business. That Mr. Thomas Busteed, of Ballinrea, at the request of Sheriff Shaw, his brother-in-law, and Mr. Armiger Sealy, mercht., at the request of Mr. Sher. Waggett, his brother-in-law, be admitted freemen at large. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Shaw; Alden. Lawton, Harding, Carleton, Baker, Webb, Owgan, Butler, Kent ; Mr. C.
