That £50 be paid to the Mayor, to be equally distributed amongst the persons who prosecuted to conviction Thomas Connelly and Thomas Lee, Hosiers, for which they were publickly whipped ; It., £635 to Mr. Mayor, --- - in addition to the sum of £365 ascertained for him in the C. D. H.; It., £62 16s. to George Seymour, in full for his account; It., £21 1s. 9d. to Walter Travers, so much expended by him when Mayor for the Corporation; It., £49 5s. 4d. to Timothy Hughes, iron monger; It., 4 guineas to John Snowe, Esq., admr. of Wm. Snowe, Esq., for supplying the Council four years with pens, ink, and paper; lt., that Wm. Jones be appointed Law Agent to the Corporation; It., that power of attorney be prepared by the Law Agent for distraining several tenants, who are in arrears to this Corpora- tion. Resolved, that this Board will on all occasions give every assistance and encouragement to such persons as sha.ll prosecute those who shall be con- .cerned in combinations. ~ ("--·-- Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Ordered, that in case the Mayor of the Staple should iss11:e his warrant to distrain the tenants holding under the staple-, that he shall be indemni- fied by this Board ; It., that £500 be paid, with such other sums as shall be subscribed for the importation of corn, and that it be sold ~t first cost, including the necessary charges under the direction of a Committee ; that Mr. May~r, Sher. Thompson and Lindsay, Mr. Shaw, C. S., and .Ald. Hard- ing, with such five as shall b~ chosen by the C~ D. H., shall be Managers for the Corporation, and they with the persons to be chosen by the subscribers in the proportion of ten persons for every £500 to be subscribed, shall be a committee for the management of this business. Whereas it appears to this Board, by the oath of John Fitzgerald, one of the Lamp Contractors of this City, that deficiencies amounting to £61168. 8!d. have arisen in the money appointed by the Mayor, &c., for . erecting Lamps, &c., by the death, removal, insolvency, &c., of several of . - . 123-2
