• 24 July, 1781. This day Mr. John Robinson took the oath of secrecy as Common Speaker. Ordered, that 30 guineas be paid to Mr. Mayor, for an entertainment at Blackrock Castle, on 4 Aug. next; It., £45 19s. 5td. to Edward Flaherty, mason, for work done at S. Stephen's Hospital; It., £62 16s. 2d. to Saml. Hobbs, carpenter, work done at said Hospital; It., £24·18s. 6jd. to Richard .Burt, glazier, work done; It., £19 18s. O!d. to said Burt, work done at S. Stephen's Hospital; It., £14 19s. 1d. to Timothy Hughes, for iron work supplied; It., £15 19s. 9d. to said Hughes, for iron work supplied for S. Stephen's Hospital; It., £45 17 s. 3d. to said Hughes, for iron work for the Corporation coal barrels ; It., £5 6s. to said Hughes, for the piles for North Bridge; It., that Mr. Kent buy 100 Barrels of Coal; It., that the Corpo- ration Fire Engine be given to the Parish of S. Nicholas, and the salary for keeping said engine be discontinued ; It., that Mr. Kent receive from Timothy Hughes, gunsmith, 614 Musquets, 614 Bayonets, Corporation arms now in his custody, as said Hughes has declined acting any longer as armo~e.t_._.::.:of:..--- this City; It., that the Mayor, Sheriffs, and Common Speaker for the time being, Alden. Maylor, Rowland, Harding, Mr. Izod and Snowe, be a com- mittee to inspect the state of the Corporation revenues and expenditure.. and report some scheme to reduce said expenditure. Present-- Mr. Mayor, Sher. Kingston and Allen ; Alden. Wetherall, Swete, Maylor, Baker, Rowland, Travers, Butler.. Owgan, Harding; . Mr. Browne, and J. Robinson, C. S. 10 Aug., 1781. Ordered, that £114s. Bd. be paid John Colbert for watching the Corpo- ration Anns 32 nights in the Mayoralty of Ald. Westropp; It., £5 148. 10d. to Mr. wm. Maturin, for newspapers supplied.
