11 June, 1779. No business for want of a sufficient number.-Wm. Snowe, Clk. of the Council. Present-Mr. Mayor, Sher. Lawton and Purcell; Alden. Wrixon, Maylor, Travers, Butler, Owgan, and Mr. Izod. 18 June, 1779. Ordered, that 30 Musquets, 30 Bayonets, 30 Cartoucb Boxes be lent out of the City .Armoury to James Devonsher, Esq., for the use of a " Military Society at }.!~ow," said Devonsher, &c., passing his bond to the Mayor, &c., for £'iS to retuni'"sB.id arms in good order; It., that 30 Musquets, 30 Bayonets, and 30 Cartouch Boxes be lent out of the City Armoury to Mr. .Andrew Johnson for the use of a " New Militarr_ Comp~ny at Blackpool," said Johnson with another passing their bond to the Mayor, &c., for £75 to return said arms in good order. That Edmond Roche, of Kildinane, Co. Cork, Esq., at the request of the Mayor; Thomas Dorman, mercht., having served Messrs. Stephen and ·Charles Denroch, do. ; Ferdinand Spiller, cooper, having served Wm. Lane ; Bennett J agoe, brewer, having served Mr. Burgess Fitton ; George Bland, Esq. ; Benj. White, gent. ; Robert Stevelly, jun., gent.; Edmond Regan, gent. ; Thomas Studdart, gent.; Revd. wm. Hales, Clk., F.T.C.D.; Andrew Franklin, ·gent.; Richard Foot, Esq.; James Uniacke, Esq.; John Hely Hutchinson, jun., Esq.; Mathew Church, mercht.; Nicholas Dunscombe, Esq. ; Revd. John Pick, juri. ; and Benjamin Hayes, gent., be admitted free- men at large. Presen~Mr. Mayor, Sher. Lawton and Purcell; .Alden. Millerd, Wrixon, .Maylor, Webb, Butler, Owgan, Travers; Mr. Browne, lzod, and Pick, C. S. 28 July, 1779. This day James Kingston, Esq., C. S., was sworn to keep the secrets of the Council, and Walter Travers, Esq., was sworn of the Common Council Ordered, that the Mayor be paid 20 guineas for an entertainment at Blackrock Castle 1 Aug. ; It., that £20 be paid Penial W estropp, widow of Ald. W estropp, dec.; It., that 25 Musquets and 25 Bayonets be lent out of the City Armoury to .Adam Newman, Esq., said Newman passing a Bond 119-2 r>( >
